The Volt League and the UPSL — and how you get there.

Houston Soccer Club debuts in October 2026 in Houston's Adidas Volt League, and enters the UPSL for the Spring 2027 season. Here is how each competition works, what the rules ask of players, and the pathway from your first training session to a matchday squad.

Adidas Volt League

Houston · from October 2026

Houston's competitive adult 11v11 league, played across the city with multiple divisions and promotion between them. This is where the club begins competing and where most members will get their first matchday.

  • 11v11 outdoor matches played across Houston on a weekend fixture calendar
  • Two 45-minute halves under the standard Laws of the Game, with league referees appointed to every fixture
  • Three points for a win, one for a draw, none for a loss, with the table decided on points
  • Multiple divisions with promotion and relegation between them, plus end-of-season playoff fixtures
  • Registered players only — every player must be on the club's league roster and photo-verified before kickoff
  • Yellow and red card accumulation carries suspensions, applied by the league

United Premier Soccer League (UPSL)

National · Spring 2027

One of the largest pro-development leagues in North America, made up of independently owned clubs playing in regional conferences with internal promotion and relegation. This is the club's highest level of competition.

  • A national pro-development league of hundreds of independently owned clubs, organised into regional conferences
  • Split into Spring and Fall seasons, with a conference schedule followed by playoffs
  • Internal promotion and relegation between UPSL divisions based on where you finish
  • Three points for a win, one for a draw, zero for a loss
  • League minimum standards for fields, referees, insurance and matchday operations that the club must meet
  • Roster registration, player passes and disciplinary rules administered by the league office

League rules are summarised for players and are subject to each league's official handbook and any in-season updates. The club confirms final competition details with members before registration closes.
