Where Volt League prep stands
October 2026 is close. Houston Soccer Club debuts in Houston's Adidas Volt League this autumn, with the UPSL following in Spring 2027, and September is the month the squad shape starts to settle.
Training runs Monday and Wednesday, 8:00-10:00 PM, and every session pairs strength and conditioning with soccer work. Between now and the first fixture, sessions move from general fitness toward match-specific work: pressing triggers, build-up patterns and small-sided games at league tempo.
- Evaluation sessions continue for new players joining the club
- First Team, Championship and Reserve & Development groups take shape
- Matchday squads are named from the players training consistently
- Every league match will be streamed live on YouTube
Three training habits that matter this month
You don't need a new program to arrive in October in better shape. You need three things done consistently between Monday and Wednesday.
- Two quality sessions beat five rushed ones — protect the Monday and Wednesday blocks and turn up ready to work
- Add one easy aerobic run a week (30-40 minutes, conversational) so 90 minutes never feels new
- Do your prehab: ankles, hamstrings and calves. Most adult-season setbacks are soft-tissue, not contact
Player stories
The squad is deliberately mixed: players 16 to 35, from beginners rebuilding their fitness to former college and semi-professional players chasing another opportunity.
Some are back on a pitch for the first time since college and rediscovering how quickly touch returns when you train twice a week. Others train with us purely to compete and stay fit at a high level, without wanting matchday selection — that's exactly what the training-only membership is for.
As players commit for the debut season, we'll feature their stories here each month, and every match will be filmed so members have footage they can actually send to clubs and coaches.
How to be part of the debut season
If you want to be considered for a Volt League matchday squad, submit the join form and come to an evaluation session. Membership is $300 onboarding plus $150 per month for the competitive squad, or $150 per month for training only.
Next update: October, from inside the first competitive week.
